Abstract Submissions

The deadline to submit abstracts is midnight (JST) Friday 26 August 2022

Call for Abstract Submission has been closed.

All abstracts submitted to the 20th International SHR Symposium will be presented in poster
sessions. For abstracts submitted to the 58th Japanese SHR meeting, notification of acceptance
and presentation style will occur as close as possible to Monday 12 September 2022. The
meeting will be held in a semi-hybrid format; that is, except for the speakers who can come to
deliver their presentation at the venue, the other speakers and the audience will participate in
the meeting online.

Poster session will be held entirely online (i.e., e-poster and Zoom breakout rooms).

Submissions with exactly the same abstract as ISH2022 KYOTO will not be accepted. However, in cases where there is additional analysis, the submission may be accepted even if there is duplication of content.

Rules for Preparation and Submission of Abstracts

  • Abstracts should be saved as electronic files compatible with Microsoft Word.
  • Submit all abstracts in English.
  • Each abstract must be contained on one (1) page formatted for A4 size except for
    the case of award application, in which two (2) pages are acceptable.
  • The margins should be 2.5 cm for the left and right margins and top and bottom.
  • Text should be Times New Roman 12 point.
  • Paragraphs should be formatted left.
  • The text spacing should be one and a half (1.5) spaces.
  • The order should be Abstract Title, line space, Author Name(s), line space, Abstract Body

Abstract Title

  • The title should be short and specific title indicating the nature of the investigation.
  • The title should contain no abbreviations.

Author Name(s)

  • Authors should be listed as Given Name Family name. The presenting author should be underlined.


  • List and number author affiliation(s) (department, institution, country) in order.
  • Use superscripts after the author names to specify their institution(s).

Abstract Body

  • The abstract body should be one continuous paragraph with no subheadings.
  • Describe briefly the objectives of the study unless they are contained in the title.
  • Include a brief statement of methods if pertinent.
  • State findings in detail sufficient to support conclusions.
  • Use generic drug names.
  • Do not begin sentences with numerals.
  • Standard abbreviations may be used without definition. Nonstandard abbreviations (kept to a minimum) must be placed in parentheses after the first use of the word or phrase abbreviated.
  • Do not include references, credits or grant support.
  • You may include figures, but they must be contained with the one page of the abstract.

 For an abstract, which you wish to have entered into the judging process of the Awards, you should write a specific Award's name at the top of the page in addition to your supervisor's declaration in the registration form.


Submitting Your Abstract

Simply send your abstract as Word document attached to an email addressed to before midnight (JST) Friday 26 August 2022.

You should receive an email within 3 days confirming the successful receipt of your abstract.
